Do you ever need help learning your lines, figuring out a self tape, or running your career like a business? Well, there’s an app for that! Here are my 5 favorite apps for actors.
1. Rehearsal Pro
In my opinion, this is the best app to help you learn lines. It’s super easy to use – just upload your script and record all the dialogue. The app will play back the recording, with your lines scrolling like a teleprompter. Once you feel ready, you can use blackout mode to see if you’re off book.
2. Slatable
I admit I haven’t used this one yet, but I’m definitely going to try it the next time I need to self tape an audition. This is a one-stop app for recording, editing, and sharing self tapes, so you can concentrate on what you do best – act!
3. IMDb
It’s always a good idea to do research on the projects you audition for. Get the low-down on the decision makers, before you walk in the room. This app is especially great for last-minute auditions.
4. Casting About
I love Casting About. This is a great tool to see who’s casting what, their contact info, and information about productions. I use it all the time.
5. Performer Track
Easily log everything you do as a performer. Keep track of your auditions, bookings, contacts, calendar, income, expenses, and stats. Your career is a business – this app helps you run it like one.
